ESSAYS AND REFLECTIONS
ON OUR CATHOLIC FAITH

Our goal is to bring the Roman Catholic Faith to those who have left it, for whatever reason.

RCspirituality.net is dedicated to Our Lady
Queen of Heaven. Through her intercession and help, and that of her Son, Jesus, we hope to reach out to you.

Hello Sunshine!

Do you get up in the morning with a growl or with a smile on your face? Most of the time, I have much to smile about. I have rested well, and I'm alive another day to praise the Lord, and give Him thanks for the Gift of a new day! Living alone has the advantage that I have no one to get mad at, but so many people tell me that their spouses aren't too friendly first thing in the morning. Or, some start nagging about all the things they want you to do, before at least some sign of civility. That can be tough on one's sunny disposition, so you do your best to be cheerful.

In Psalm 51, Verse 10, we read: " Create in me a clean heart, O God, and put a new and right spirit within me" (RSV) ... a "right spirit" is a friendly disposition toward our brothers and sisters at all times. If we love our sisters and brothers, even first thing in the morning, we are not to growl at them or snarl. We should not put unreasonable demands on them. If the shed is burning, sure, tell them to do something about it, but otherwise give them a chance to wake up gracefully!

The Lord has a gentle disposition, and since he is very much like us (except in sin), be gentle first thing and carry a tune all day. And, if you get into an argument with your better half try to reason it out by compromising. You give a little, then he or she... but don't argue with God, you will always lose. So don't argue with one another either.

Do you realize that a Sunny Disposition can avoid the starting of a conflict, even a war? Then, I say to those aching to start something ... simply, Don't! Try to emulate God who is power and light to all who you come into contact with. He gave His Life for us on the Cross so that we may have Sunshine in our Heart!

Peace
